What is LG Wonderbox?
The Wonderbox Showcase is LG annual 3D animation challenge designed to kick-start creative careers through Life's Good-driven prompts. Students are encouraged to submit original works for the possibility of being featured on LG's Times Square billboard.
This team collaborative artwork, created by two members, including myself, was selected for 2nd place at the LG Wonderbox 2023 U.S. university student showcase through expert judging. The work was exhibited in Times Square for approximately one year, until the winter of 2023–2024. The award ceremony was filmed on The Drew Barrymore Show.
This project involved producing a 3D billboard animation for Times Square. Moving away from the traditional 2D display format, we explored a more dynamic and immersive 3D billboard experience. We conducted extensive research and experimentation to fully understand and maximize the creative and technical potential of the 3D billboard medium.
