1. Metahuman (Unreal 5.6)

In Unreal Engine 5.6, MetaHuman has been fully integrated into the engine, making it much more accessible and easier to use than before. My game features four main characters as well as several NPC villagers, and once I became familiar with the MetaHuman workflow, creating the characters was a relatively smooth process.

However, achieving the specific hairstyles and clothing designs I wanted required a deeper understanding of the system. Since there were limited tutorials and learning resources available for some of the features, I spent considerable time studying, experimenting, and researching the tools to successfully implement the functionality needed for my project.

2. Face Capture (Live Link Hub)

I created character animations using Live Link Hub and MetaHuman within Unreal Engine. By utilizing Live Link Hub, I was able to stream facial performance data in real time and apply it directly to MetaHuman characters, allowing for efficient iteration and immediate visual feedback during the animation process.

After capturing and refining the performance data, I integrated the animations into Unreal Engine and adjusted facial expressions, timing, and overall character movement to achieve more natural and believable results. This workflow helped streamline character production while maintaining a high level of visual quality and realism.
